One man’s attempt to set foot in EVERY NATION on Earth. WEEK 2: www.youtube.com This vlog covers the first week of the journey; Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Ecuador, and some hairy experiences along the way. THE ODYSSEY is an epic adventure series, a world first, a race against time, a year of living dangerously. Scouse film-maker Graham Hughes’ barking, madcap 12 month adventure. 52 weeks, 100000 kilometers, 200 nations, 5 continents, 1 man and no flights! The Odyssey is a marathon trip like no other. In an attempt to set a new record for the fastest surface journey to every nation on earth, I hope to take you with me through all the troubles and tribulations I encounter on the road via these weekly video logs. If Í’m successful, I’ll not only raise a million pounds for WaterAid and set a new world record, I’ll also win my girlfriend’s hand in marriage. So the stakes are pretty high. WaterAid seeks to enable the worlds poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. You can donate here: www.justgiving.com/theodysseyexpedition and every penny goes to WaterAid. Lonely Planet Television is shooting an eight-part TV series of the adventure. This is so neat! Good for you!!! I love it! This year I am living on a permanent vacation with three weeks work and the last week of every month off. A bit of home/travel balance! I am in Toronto for three weeks a month and my last week of every month I have visited Havana, New Orleans, London, Paris, NYC, Around Spain and the last week this month I have no idea where I will go. I want to go South!!
I plan on doing this
@bently42 You’re right – too much to do in a year, but I’m still going!! I’m the first to do this, so it can take as long as it takes…!
@thezombieapocalypse Still going mate! 184 down and only 16 more countries to go!!!

Aww, why didn’t you stop longer in Chile? It’s a cool country… and I don’t say this because I live there.
By the way, how was Africa?
Just discovered your video and can’t wait to watch the rest. I’m getting ready to do a round-the-world trip next year and am so excited so can’t wait to see more of your travels.
I’m going alone too and do wonder how I’ll end up coping with bouts on lonliness.

Graham, don’t feel on your own!!! Me along with thousands others are following your journey! Scouse power YNWA!
Dude: You have to do approximately 1.84 countries per day in order to enter each country within a year. Without flying, though? I don’t think it can be done, especially when it comes time to island hop in the Pacific. Good luck to ya, though!
Zeitgeist(the movies). Have you seen them? So…………….are you going to choose the orange one? or the reddish one? Or are you not going to choose any at all?
Trip? I don’t think so. This guy’s raising a million quid for WaterAid. What have you done to make a difference? No, let me guess…nothing. End of discussion.
